ReStory’s Artist Residency program offers uninterrupted time and carefully curated space to artists of all disciplines. Each property within ReStory’s roster offers a unique residency opportunity and is tailored to the restored historic property in-which the program operates. Artists eligible to apply are professional creatives working at all career stages. Applicants are selected based on their proposed project, quality of work, and overall need for a residency program. Our residency program is designed to offer artists highly inspirational space to cultivate growth on their journey of creation.

The Gertrude Shook House is the first of many residences to exist within ReStory. This residency program allows two artists to be in residence at one time with a private bedroom, studio, and bathroom within a shared house sitting on two acres. The artists, one visual artist and one writer, will share communal space providing endless opportunities of community and collaboration. Residencies will run from one to six weeks depending on the artist's request and cost a flat rate based on a per day fee. Sponsorships and funding are unavailable at this time as ReStory continues to grow. Applications are reviewed by a rotating jury of practicing artists and writers. Please note that because of the historic nature of The Gertrude Shook House, this property is not ADA accessible. There is an application fee of $25 payable at the end of your application.
